Michael J. Galet
Project Manager
As a kid, I always had an interest in the environment and as I grew older, I felt that it was important that my career could be impactful in a positive way. I found that civil engineering was a career path that could allow me to merge the two.
As a Project Manager, I am responsible for selling and executing projects. Over the years, I’ve developed a diverse portfolio of project types, ranging from representing local municipalities, to stormwater mitigation and environmental restoration, to commercial, residential, industrial developments. I am involved in projects from conception to completion, responsible for developing the initial proposal to managing the design team throughout the final design and construction. I am also the Market Segment Leader for Schools and Institutions, offering support to other Project Managers with business development efforts within that segment, while also providing oversight on forecasting and financial budgeting.
I started at Gateway as an Engineer-In-Training in 2014. Before that, I worked for PennDOT as a Bridge Inspection Intern while still in school. After graduating from college, I worked at James Construction in Carnegie, PA as a Project Engineer for almost 2 years.
As the (proud) son of a carpenter, I enjoy working with my hands, and find myself spending most of my free time on general home improvement projects. I also have a growing interest in home-brewing and RVing, and I’m a Penn State football fanatic – possibly explaining the root of those two interests. And of course, I enjoy anything my wife, Emmy, enjoys, which includes raising chickens apparently?
