Jonathan E. Garczewski
Project Manager
I knew I wanted to be a civil engineer when I realized how much I enjoyed solving difficult problems in my math and physics classes in high school. In researching those fields of study, I found a profession in which I could occasionally be outside, as well as utilize my strong educational background.
At Gateway, I have come to enjoy my role as a Project Manager which allows me to sell and execute projects, both large and small, in municipalities in Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio and West Virginia. Whether the project be a utility replacement project, a residential subdivision, or a convenience store, I enjoy the process of starting a project from scratch, obtaining approvals, and seeing it under construction. As a Project Manager, I utilize the many tools and processes at Gateway to ensure that our clients are satisfied throughout the execution of every project, while ensuring their project is completed on time and within budget.
Upon graduation from college, I was hired by Gateway in 2005 as an engineer-in-training, learning the trade of civil engineering and requirements to obtain project approvals from municipalities and regulatory agencies. I became a project manager in 2012, where I managed various sizes of projects within both the public and private sectors, and within many markets, including commercial, residential and institutions. In 2016, I became a shareholder at Gateway and continue to serve as project manager leading a great team of resources to successfully execute many types of projects.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids, watching our kids at sporting events or dance recitals, and taking vacations throughout the country. I also enjoy cooking, grilling, and being outside during the warm months of the year. Although a grad of both YSU and SRU, I am a huge PITT fan, and enjoy rooting for their teams, watching their games, and going to as many live events as I can.
