Jason D. Jesso
Chief Executive Officer
When I was a junior in high school, I began to spend much of my time outside and in nature. Around the same time, I discovered that I could combine my love of the outdoors with a career in Landscape Architecture.
Prior to working at Gateway, I was a Landscape Designer for two independent architecture and engineering firms in Pittsburgh where I cut my teeth and learned how to combine design and engineering into a single solution.
When I joined Gateway, I learned quickly that I could create my future – it was completely in my control – and Gateway would support me as long as I continued to grow and apply my talents and what I had learned. It was through this process that I realized I enjoyed leadership and designing more than just landscapes, but the future of Gateway as an organization.
Today, as CEO, I establish, implement, and communicate the vision of the organization, both internally and externally. I have a senior title here, but I am just one of almost 200 team members dedicated to our core foundations of People, Projects, and Purpose. Similar to my relationship with my own children, I learn from, as much I share with my colleagues, and am humbled by what we have achieved together. I am excited by and look forward to sharing our very bright future.
I still love the outdoors and you can find me golfing, cycling, skiing, hiking, and traveling with my family. Regardless of where I am, I am always listening and learning how to be better: as a teammate, a leader, a husband, a Dad and as a human.
