Andrew M. Ungarino

Project Manager
I knew I wanted to work in civil engineering after I completed my first internship, participating on a project team that led the design and construction of a tunnel under the city of Louisville, Kentucky. What excited me most was how I could combine my love of technology with an application to the real world. This passion led me to further explore technology, and how it is employed in the AEC industry, to develop designs, create workflow processes, and ultimately, better project outcomes.

I joined Gateway in 2019 as a land development civil engineer. My interest in technology guided my career path, since, to pursue the role of Design Technology Specialist, where I help manage the use of technology within Gateway's practice areas. With a primary focus on supporting project teams with engineering-related software and best management practices, I have the opportunity to gain exposure to, and have an impact on, a diverse range of projects. I enjoy developing and hosting internal training sessions to encourage continual improvement and the efficient use of engineering design software across the Gateway organization.

When not at work, I enjoy hiking, traveling, working on cars, DIY projects, boating, movies, and camping!
