Community & Recreation Center at Boyce Mayview Park
Featuring a 90,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art community and recreation center, ball fields, aquatic center, dog run, community gardens, and miles of trail systems that wind through its combined 475 acres, Boyce Mayview Park represents more than green space – it is a destination. The park, community and recreation center, and its many features were designed by Gateway and partners after extensive community engagement to develop a recreational destination that would support Upper Saint Clair’s value and attractiveness as a community of choice among the best places to live in suburban Pittsburgh. Simply, the entire development was designed, engineered and executed to fulfill the residents’ request to: “Whatever you do, make sure that it’s done well.” **
Providing both passive and active recreation opportunities, the entire park was designed to serve as a model of sustainable design in practice. Gateway was able to integrate multiple practice areas into a unified solution that allowed this “model” to become reality. From the green materials used in the architectural features of the recreation and community center, to the environmental preservation of the property’s wetlands and waterways, and onto the maintenance and operations of the entire facility, sustainability was the primary goal to ensure that Boyce Mayview Park would support the Upper St. Clair community and its guests for generations.
