I knew I wanted to be a structural engineer when, in college, I realized what opportunities this profession would present to me. At Gateway, I serve as a Project Manager, so I acquire new projects then see them through to completion. Some are relatively small projects and some are very large projects. I enjoy seeing the building’s life cycle from concept drawings to completion of the last structural element. Prior to joining Gateway, I worked at FDE Limited, a structural engineering firm in Alexandria, Virginia for the first 8 years of my career. I then re-located to Pittsburgh and worked for a Pittsburgh-based structural engineering firm for 22 years. I formed a one-man structural engineering firm (Schneider Engineering, LLC) and worked on mostly small projects for 3-1/2 years before joining Gateway in 2017.

I recently became a grandfather (twice) and enjoy time with my two granddaughters. I also enjoy golfing and traveling with my wife.
