As the Municipal Engineer (Engineer of Record) for Mt. Lebanon, Gateway Engineers provided a fully-integrated design and project solution for a comprehensive refresh of the township’s existing Uptown Corridor along Washington Road (S.R. 19). From a complete survey of the thousands of feet of sidewalk, buried utilities and access panels, to the facades of the many business and office buildings that line the Uptown Corridor, Gateway produced a turnkey design and project plan, along with complete bid packages for the township to distribute to contractors to bid.

Prior to the design finalization, Gateway’s project team participated in community planning sessions, and coordinated with business owners within the project work limits. The proposed project features include, updated sidewalks, brick paver accent strips, new seating features, new planter islands, new pedestrian lighting, new LED planter lighting, new street trees and landscape plantings, new parking kiosks, updated ADA ramps and improved ADA accessibility.
