Internships at Gateway are different.
Gateway’s internship program has been an invaluable experience that strengthened my interest in civil engineering. I have not had much real-life engineering experience, so I am grateful that Gateway offers a program specifically for college freshman. Participating in weekly site visits. learning from experienced engineers, and receiving training in Civil 3D has prepared me well for my future classes and career as a civil engineer.

During this internship, I have enjoyed going on site visits and learning about the thinking, design and personal touch that each engineer puts into a project site. It was also great to be introduced to some CAD and to speak to, and learn from, engineers in different civil engineering sectors.

The internship program has been an extremely insightful and hands-on experience allowing me to apply everything that I have learned in school. It has also helped me to become a more well rounded engineer in, and out of, the workplace. The program has given me a look into project management and several different market segments related to civil engineering. Over the course of the summer, the work I have been given has built up a lot of excitement for what lies ahead in my career path!

My experience with the internship has definitely been one that I would recommend to others. I've learned an incredible amount from the DT trainings where Andy Ungarino helped me to develop my skills in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. I've also really enjoyed meeting people in the office and seeing how great the culture is here at Gateway.
