Michael Chen
Project Manager
As a child, I found joy in building with Lego blocks, a hobby that would later foreshadow my passion for constructing and engineering. This inclination led me to pursue a career in environmental engineering during my college years, diverging from the conventional path of civil engineering. I gravitated towards areas like air quality, water resources, hazardous waste management, and sustainable building practices.
Before joining Gateway, I gained valuable experience at Keystone Consultants, where I assisted in environmental permitting for clients in the oil and gas industry. Additionally, my role as a Professional Engineer at Wade Trim involved the design of Regulator Stations for Peoples Gas.
Presently, I serve as a Project Manager at Gateway, where I play a crucial role in facilitating midstream energy projects. This involves tasks ranging from pipeline route design to as-built documentation, as well as navigating the intricacies of transportation and environmental permitting.
My roots trace back to the enchanting island of Taiwan, nestled on the eastern edge of the globe. It's a place where we take immense pride in our rich and ancient Chinese heritage, our exceptional cuisine, and the warm hospitality of our people. Visiting Taiwan is an experience that I wholeheartedly recommend, as it offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse yourself in its unique culture and natural beauty. Outside of work, my greatest joys are found in spending quality time with my family and engaging in play with the kids. I'm also an avid sports enthusiast, particularly drawn to outdoor activities. Tennis holds a special place in my heart, as it's a lifelong passion that I'll never tire of.
